This website and business is operated by Launch Lab Consulting Limited, trading as Launch Lab Consulting. We are a consultancy and provide an online community for contractors.

We collect personal information about you when you provide it to us, either via our website or otherwise.  We collect this personal information from you either directly, such as when you contact us or indirectly, such as your browsing activity while on our website (see ‘Cookies’ below and our separate cookie policy).

The personal information we collect about you via our site includes:

•  your name, email address and other contact details;

•   your work history and experience;

•   your LinkedIn handle and profile information;

•   the information that you provide to us in your CV;

•   details of your referees

We may collect the following information if we are shortlisting you for an assignment with a client and if you are successfully placed with a client:

•   your bank and payment details;

•   information to enable us to verify your right to work and suitability for the position, which may include a copy of your passport or driving licence;

•   details of any feedback you give us by phone, email, post or via social media;

•   Information about your previous employment history from references obtained about you from previous employers; and/or

•   If you provide it to us; information about your health and reasonable adjustments you may need in the work place.

We use your personal information to:

•   verify your identity;

•   determine your eligibility for, and provide you with access to, Launch Lab Collab;

•   identify clients and assignments that may match your skills;

•   contact you if we have a client assignment that we think would suit your skills;

•   customise our website and its content to your particular preferences;

•   notify you of any changes to our website or to our services that may affect you; and/or

•   improve our services.

This website is not intended for use by children and we do not knowingly collect or use personal information relating to children.

Our legal basis for processing your personal information:

We ask for this:

  • to verify that you are a real person and that you can join Launch Lab Collab;

  • to give you access to Launch Lab Collab;

  • to communicate with you about our services; and

  • to contact you if we think your skills match a client assignment that we have available. At this stage, we will ask whether you are happy for your details to be put forward to the client. If you say yes, we will rely on 'consent’ as the lawful basis to send your information to the relevant client so that they can, with us, assess your suitability for the assignment.

We rely on the following lawful bases for collecting and processing this information:

  • Legitimate interest: to carry out a fair process when considering whether your skills match a client assignment

We will keep this information until you tell us that you no longer want to be part of the Launch Lab and/or Launch Lab Collab, or we remove you for reasons set out in our Terms and Conditions.

When you indicate, by opting in, that you wish to receive marketing from us

We may send you marketing about our services, useful information about the contractor market or, for example, a referral offer.

We rely on ‘consent’ as the lawful basis for collecting and using your personal information.

If we place you with a client for an assignment

Health information that you have provided to us, that you think is relevant

If you agree, we will provide your name, contact details and your work history and experience to a client for the purposes of them assessing, with us, whether you are the right person for their assignment.

If you provide health information to us, which you ask us to share with a client, we will provide this as well. This would be used to ensure that you are fit to perform the assignment and also to determine whether, and what, reasonable adjustments may need to be made for you.

Please note that if we place you with a client (or you are in direct contact with them for any other reason), any information you provide directly to our client will be governed by their privacy policy and they will be acting as the controller of your information.

We rely on the following lawful bases for collecting and processing this information:

  • Consent; and

  • Legitimate interest: to ensure you are fit to perform the duties.

If we place you with a client for an assignment

Bank account and payment details

We will use your bank account and payment details in order to pay you your fee for the assignment that you undertake with our client.

We rely on ‘consent’ and ‘contract’ as the lawful basis for collecting and using your personal information.

We will keep this information until you tell us that you no longer want to be part of the Launch Lab and/or Launch Lab Collab, or we remove you for reasons set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Who we share your personal information with:

As set out above, we may routinely share your information with clients, with your consent, if we think you are a good fit for an assignment with them.

We will share personal information with law enforcement or other authorities if required by applicable law.

We will not share your personal information with any other third party.

Transfer of your information out of the UK and EEA:

We do not transfer your personal information out of the UK and EEA, save that our website host, Squarespace, may store your information on servers based in the US.  We have signed up to Squarespace’s Data Protection Agreement and Privacy Policy and, as part of that, Squarespace agree to use Standard Contractual Clauses (also known as Model Contractual Clauses) as the legal basis for transferring personal data to third countries, including the United States. Squarespace have put appropriate technical and organisational safeguards in place to meet the standards required to protect your data.

Cookies and other tracking technologies:

A cookie is a small text file which is placed onto your device (eg computer, smartphone or other electronic device) when you use our website. We use cookies on our website. These help us recognise you and your device and store some information about your preferences or past actions.

We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
